Michelle
My name is Michelle and I have been running for 6 years. I started running to lose my pregnancy weight and hadn’t exercised since my early twenties (wrongly!) due to being diagnosed with arthritis. I wasn’t fit enough to run around after my children and I never thought in a million years I would be able to run 5K. I achieved my goal and within 5 weeks, managed to run my second race 5 minutes quicker. Needless to say I was hooked and I have since run various 10K races, Half Marathons, Triathlons and the London Marathon. I suffer much less with my symptoms as a result of becoming stronger and fitter and have never looked back. Running is the only exercise I have stuck at and never got bored of. I have not forgotten what it is like to start out thinking you can’t do it – but believe me you can. Since becoming a Leader In Running Fitness three years ago I have gone on to become a qualified Coach in Running Fitness. Helping people achieve their goals is so rewarding.

Julie
Hi I am Julie Hewstone a Coach for Chelmer Roadrunners. I have been running for about 4 years. I started running to get my fitness back after having my children and after completing the initial 12 week Beginners course, found I loved it so much I became a qualified Run Leader. I hadn't run since I was at school and found it gave me a new lease of life! Since I began running I have completed 3 half Marathons and a 10 mile race, I always thought I wasn't a 'real' runner, but since joining the running group I have realised it takes all sorts and I actually am a 'real' runner. I am also a qualified Coach in Running Fitness.
